My Cookbook of the Month – December 2017 recommendation is Perfect Recipes for Having People Over by Pam Anderson. The first reason for choosing this book is the holidays are upon us. My second reason is because we’re all short on time and our pockets can take a bit hit. This time of year you’re pulled in 100 different directions, being invited here and there or entertaining at your own home. Having a problem figuring out what to serve can be a chore and distraction. No need to add stress to an otherwise fun, festive occasion. Entertaining should be a joyous time had by all.

Perfect Recipes for Having People Over is written with entertaining in mind. Just take a sneak peek here to see what I mean. I think you’ll add this cookbook to your collection. Choosing the perfect recipe depends on the occasion and the number of people invited. Most often, time is of the essence. Am I right? I know as I’ve been there many times.
Published in 2005, the recipes are still relevant today from my Cookbook of the Month – December 2017. A good recipe matters anytime and never loses its appeal. Serving friends and family a tried and true meal is no big deal with the perfect recipe.

Pam has written a cookbook to be used over and over again. Her book contains appetizers and first courses, salads, side dishes, breads, desserts, and drinks. I still refer to this cookbook often when I need inspiration. I have notes written all over the pages if adjustments have been made. Remember cooking needs to suit your own palate with your guests in mind. In addition, sections for Main Courses, Kitchen Gatherings, Outdoor Affairs, in the Dining Room, and Breakfasts for Company are provided. Pam’s concept is just having people over and not entertaining. Pam thinks the word “entertain” makes people cringe because it sounds like a bit of work and too complicated.

My cookbook recommendation has taken “Sharing A Meal” to a whole new level. Keep calm and stay relaxed is her motto and mine as well. Furthermore, I love to have people over. No more anxiety, people. Prepare to share a satisfying meal with family and friends. When serving a large crowd, make Chicken Chili (page 13). Full of flavor and easy to make. Appetizers, sides and dessert suggestions are listed at the bottom of each recipe. I love this area of the book as what to serve with your meal doesn’t always come to mind. For a fancier meal during the holidays, serve Rosemary-Scented Roasted Pork Loin (page 83). Try this decadent dessert, Frozen Tiramisu with Coffee Mascarpone Sauce (page 25). Ridiculously delicious! is all I can say.
