Cookies, the little sweet somethings everybody loves whether you’re a kid or an adult. Cookies always seem to bring a smile to your face. Whether you’re looking for new favorite or a just plain old, darn good cookie my Cookbook of the Month – March 2017 is sure to be the cookie cookbook of your dreams. My recommendation is Dorie’s Cookies by renowned cookbook author and award winner, Dorie Greenspan. I’ve been following Dorie since 2006 to the present. Critics consider her a culinary guru and I will agree. Mrs. Greenspan is someone I aspire to meet one day. Dorie Greenspan loves to bake and it shows in her recipes.
Dorie’s Cookies is a relative new release (October 2016) but if you know her work and cooking style then it was and is a no-brainer this book had to become part of my cookbook library. Dorie created this cookie book based on her love of baking and son’s love of cookies. As a result she calls him her “cookie monster.” With that inspiration who couldn’t turn out an awesome cookbook for every home baker. Baking makes you and everyone around you feel good. Cookies are celebration, happiness and fun. Dorie’s Cookies is meant for you to make these recipes over and over again, as a result become your favorites as they are hers and mine.

Cookbook of the Month – March 2017
Trust me, the recipes in Cookbook of the Month – March 2017 will become go-to recipes for your family, friends, and coworkers for all occasions. Dorie’s recipes are from years of travel, living in Paris where dessert is much different from here in the states and owning her own bakery, Beurre & Sel (Butter and Salt). Beurre & Sel is no longer in business as the cookie bakery closed in 2013. Even though New Yorker’s are sad the beloved bakery is gone, someone mentioned maybe one day there will be a cookie book. Low and behold our prayers were answered. Over 300 cookie recipes fill the pages of this fabulous book with easy instructions.
I feel about baking as she does that the joy of taking raw ingredients and turning them into something delectable, sharing memories for years to come. No, we do not need them. But the joy of a cookie is hard to resist. Throughout the year I love looking through my many cookie recipes. It’s a hard job deciding what flavor, shape, crunchy or chewy, nut or no nuts, sliced, drop or cut-outs. Do I create new favorites or variations or make all old favorites? Such decisions in life…I say mix the old with the new as Easter and Spring is fast approaching.
If you love to bake, grab the kids, raid your pantry and refrigerator and get to mixing. Cookbook of the Month – March 2017 is an enjoyable read as an invaluable cookie cookbook. Checkout Dorie’s Cookie as I’m sure this book will become a classic allowing all bakers to enjoy baking at its best.
