Since March 3rd I have been recovering from knee surgery so not much cooking has been happening in my kitchen. Yet that does not mean I don’t have a few tasty vittles stored away for moments like this. These last two weeks have been pretty crazy and nothing takes my mind off crazy than to get into my kitchen. Prepare you and your family a fabulous meal with my Cumin Seasoned Pork Chops.
Cumin Seasoned Pork Chops
Look, I know as well as you do that having to stay home because you’re told to is quite different than staying home because you want to. The world in which we live with the Coronavirus is a challenge and requires a bit of creativity at all angles. Your kids are out of school, your workplace has shortened hours or closed or maybe you’re lucky to work from work. Whatever your dilemma, good food is always on the menu. This is a good opportunity to eat healthy and enjoy some home-cooking you never seem to have time to do. Make all those trips to the grocery store worthwhile then get home and stay put.
Cumin Seasoned Pork Chops
Preparing these pork chops is a breeze and can be made ahead of time. I recommend cooking your sides prior to cooking pork chops because the chops cook very quickly. I like to serve them with rice pilaf or baked potatoes. Roasted asparagus or broccoli go great with the tender chops, too.
Coat your chops with the spices early in the day to infuse flavor and bring to room temperature about 20 minutes before cooking. You’ll love the flavor profile of warm spices especially cumin. Be sure to coat chops generously with spices.
Cumin Seasoned Pork Chops
Boneless pork loin chops are lean and lower in fat yet whatever you do, don’t overcook the chops or you’ll feel like you’re eating wood. Cook them just to 160 degrees or even a bit less because the temperature will rise during their rest for 5 minutes before serving. Yummy, juicy and tender!
If your whole family is home during this time, make the best of the situation and enjoy the family time. Don’t forget to call and check on older loved ones who may be vulnerable. Pray that will emerge a stronger people, remembering to all come together in this time of need and uncertainty. God Bless. Until my next post…enjoy!
