Mom always had a big pitcher made everyday. Then one day my Dad came home work with a recipe for Iced Tea Syrup given to him by a friend. Made with loose tea, water and sugar, it’s an actual syrup like a concentrate to make iced tea by the glass or by the pitcher. You just add water and ice cubes. Dad’s Iced Tea Syrup Used 5 Ways makes it easy to make iced tea whenever and however you want. Add lemon, mint, and other flavored syrups to make your own flavored iced teas by the glass or by the pitcher. The measurements are 1 part syrup to 3 parts water. It’s a lot cheaper than buying all the cans and bottles available. Plus, let your own taste buds do the tasting. Any loose tea can be made into a syrup. Dad’s Iced Tea Syrup Used 5 Ways
Dad’s Iced Tea Syrup
Place 4 heaping Tablespoons of loose tea in a medium saucepan.
Add 4 cups boiling water to tea. Cover saucepan; let steep for 10-15 minutes.
Strain tea into desired container; add 2 cups granulated sugar.
Stir until sugar dissolves completely.
Pour tea into a covered bottle or jar; keep refrigerated.
To make iced tea: Use 1 part iced tea syrup to 3 parts water to taste. Add ice to glass or pitcher.
Enjoy and create your own flavored iced tea by adding honey ginger syrup, pomegranate juice, papaya pineapple nectar, hibiscus flower syrup or even Jack Daniels whiskey to name a few. For unsweetened tea, omit sugar.

1/4 cup pomegranate juice
3/4 cup – 1 cup water
Ice cubes

Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey Iced Tea
1/4 cup iced tea syrup
1 – 50 ml Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey Whiskey
3/4 cup – 1 cup water
Ice cubes
Splash of lemon juice
Lemon slices, for garnish
Papaya Pineapple Iced Tea
1/3 cup iced tea syrup
1/3 cup papaya pineapple nectar
3/4 cup water
Ice cubes
Pineapple chunks, for garnish
Hibiscus Flower Iced Tea
1/3 cup iced tea syrup
1/3 cup hibiscus flower concentrate
3/4 cup water
Ice cubes
Lemon slices or maraschino cherries, for garnish
