“Halloween Pretzel Magic Wands”

Grab your kids, pretzel rods, chocolate, and sprinkles then head to the kitchen for a fun Halloween treat. Let’s stir up some hocus pocus with Halloween Pretzel Magic Wands. Kids look forward to Halloween like no other time of year. They love the food especially candy but there’s always games and of course, the costumes. There are discussions at school and on their iPad’s about what each will be wearing. Halloween is truly magic filled with ghouls and goblins.

So here is the fun recipe for kids to cast magic spells on those friendly ghosts. Halloween Pretzel Magic Wands are no more than pretzel rods, melted chocolate and sprinkles. Does anybody know a kid or adult for that matter that doesn’t like sprinkles? Pretzel rods are dipped in dark or white chocolate coating and rolled in the sprinkles. Place on waxed paper to set. If you are giving as gifts or taking to a party, individual pretzel bags can be purchased at your local craft store. Otherwise place wands in mugs as I have in my picture to display.

Larger sprinkles can be used but I suggest dipping rods first. Lay on waxed paper and use tweezers to apply spiders, skulls, bats, or bones to the wands so they set in chocolate, otherwise they roll off. These wands can be made other times of the year. Just call them something else. I just wanted a Halloween spin on them. So gather your little critters and have some fun. Just know you will have a few sprinkles bouncing around your kitchen. Cooking is no fun without a little mess. Happy Halloween everybody!

Halloween Pretzel Magic Wands

1 – 2 bags Snyder Pretzel Rods (about 20 rods per bag)

1 – 1 lb. 8 oz. package chocolate and/or white chocolate almond bark/candy coating

2 – 3 bottles Nonpareil Sprinkles (more may be need depending how heavy you sprinkle)

In a microwave safe bowl, melt candy coating per package directions. Dip rods one at a time in chocolate, shaking off excess. Immediately roll or sprinkle on sprinkles to adhere to chocolate. Lay on waxed paper to set. Store in air tight containers or wrap individually in pretzel bags.

Note: Recipe can be adjusted depending on how many you’re wands you’re making. You will need at least 2 bottles of sprinkles per bag of pretzel rods. Don’t throw candy coating as it can be remelted for another use. Just store in an airtight container until then.
