My Honey Lemon Chicken Wings came about because I love chicken wings and so does my family. My Mom, sister and I were always trying new flavor combinations when we had a girls movie night. We’re talking a number of years ago, before moving to Chicago. Well, I’m still trying out new combinations and hope you like this one. It’s an easy weeknight recipe or great appetizer for a party. Honey Lemon Chicken Wings

2 lbs. chicken wings, trimmed, discard tips

¼ cup honey

1 T. maple syrup

1 T. Sriracha

2 T. Olive oil

1 t. sweet paprika

2 t. salt

1 T. garlic powder

2 garlic cloves, finely minced

3 lemons, zested, plus juice of 1 lemon

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a large rimmed baking sheet (Jelly roll – 15 ½” -10 ½”) with parchment paper and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, stir together honey, maple syrup, Sriracha, olive oil, paprika, salt, garlic powder, garlic, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Place chicken wings into bowl and toss to coat completely. Cover bowl and refrigerate wings for at least 2 hours to marinate. Remove chicken wings to prepared baking sheet in a single layer, ensuring wings don’t touch each other.

Bake wings for 15 minutes. Turn wings over and bake an additional 15-20 minutes. Turn chicken wings one more time until crispy and glaze is browned. Turning the wings several times keeps wings from burning. Remove from oven and serve with your favorite side. Try Sweet Chili sauce for dipping, added zing and heat. Keep plenty of napkins handy. These wings are finger licking good.

Enjoy!
