“Orange Spiced Apple Cider”

Does anyone agree, fall just screams apple cider? Well, I have a tummy, warming drink to cuddle up with on a crisp fall night. Grab a comfy blanky because you’ll want to cozy up with my Orange Spiced Apple Cider.

My Orange Spiced Apple Cider is a take on Witches Brew. Rum is added to apple cider and is usually served at fall parties. But in my recipe I changed ingredients up a little with orange flavored vodka. A bolder orange flavor is achieved in this drink with orange juice then spiced with whole cloves and a cinnamon stick. Let cider mixture simmer on the stove for about 10 minutes to let spices infuse cider. No additional sugar is added and not needed if you find a good apple cider. Try to buy cider from your local apple orchard. It’s the best. Apple juice will not work in this recipe as it’s flavor is not concentrated enough.

This recipe makes only one serving but can easily be made into a large batch for a party. You can even make a large batch without adding the vodka. Add vodka to your taste in a warm mug of cider. Store extra in refrigerator and heat as warranted. Go ahead, grab your favorite mug and say “Hello to Fall” with Orange Spiced Apple Cider.
