My sister found this recipe years ago for a cookout entertaining friends. All her friends couldn’t stop talking about this compound butter. The butter has a creamy, oniony, cheesy texture and taste. Last year my best friend and I cooked together during a weekend visit to Ohio. Cooking together was something we did quite a bit before moving to Chicago. My sister, my best friend’s husband and mine joined the fun in her kitchen, reaping the benefits. I changed the type of mayonnaise I used to Hellman’s Olive Oil blend. Forgot to buy Mayo at the store so I used what was in her refrigerator. Did not think this recipe could get any better. Oh my goodness gracious! Try Parmesan Onion Butter with grilled meats, salads, and soups. Make sure you make extra or you’ll find yourself making more while everyone else is eating. You may even find yourself making it as a snack. Go ahead, be my guest. Thanks Sis for an awesome recipe.

Parmesan Onion Butter

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup mayonnaise, Hellman’s olive oil blend

1 T. sliced green onions, including white and green parts

2 garlic cloves, finely minced or 1/4 t. garlic powder

Dash of freshly ground black pepper

In small bowl, combine all ingredients. Stir until light and creamy. Cover; refrigerate several hours to blend flavors. Let stand at room temperature 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

Spread on french bread and broil in the oven or grill until nicely toasted.

This recipe is great with barbecue!
