I had purchased pork chops and my husband wanted to go out to eat. Of course I said sure, let’s go!
Pork Chops with Apple Cider Sauce
This is such an easy recipe and perfect for any weeknight. These pork chops take no time to prepare and a simple salad pairs quite well or do as I did and serve with buttered parsley potatoes and french green beans with mushrooms. A fabulous combination on a chilly fall night therefore plan on making my Pork Chops with Apple Cider Sauce.
I will tell you this is a five-ingredient recipe since all you need is pork chops, apple cider, brown sugar, whole grain mustard along with oil for sauteing. When I told you this recipe was simple and easy, I meant it. No fuss and not a lot of mess to clean up afterward dinner. Hallelujah, right?
Pork Chops with Apple Cider Sauce
Finally, let’s prepare this beautiful pork chops. First, sprinkle chops with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once oil is hot, add chops to skillet, cooking each side about 4 minutes. remove chops to plate. The chops should be nice and golden brown but do not overcook or the meat will be dry. Remember 160 degrees internal temp is perfect.
In the same skillet, add in apple cider, light brown sugar, and whole grain mustard. Bring sauce to boil, stir and reduce sauce by half until sauce thickens. Adjust seasonings before adding chops back to skillet and coat with apple cider sauce, heating through. Pork Chops with Apple Cider Sauce is ready to serve. Pork Chops with Apple Cider Sauce
4 bone-in center-cut or rib pork chops
Kosher salt and pepper to taste
2 T. Canola oil
1 ½ cups apple cider
2 T. light brown sugar
1 T. whole grain mustard
Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper then add in pork chops and cook 4 minutes on each side. Remove chops to plate and set aside.
Add apple cider, brown sugar, and mustard to skillet. Bring to boil and reduce sauce until thick and reduced by half. Sprinkle in salt and pepper to taste and return chops to skillet. Coat chops with sauce and warm through before serving.
