Are you in the mood for something spicy and yields tons of flavor? Have I got a recipe for you. I love hot and spicy food but not so hot that you can’t feel your tongue but a nice kick in the pants. That’s how I describe my Spicy Chipotle Tomato Salsa. It’s a kick in the pants alright but the flavors are magnificently bold and delicious. I love making salsas and this is a new favorite.
Spicy Chipotle Tomato Salsa is fabulous eaten alone with tortilla chips or used as a topping for tacos, burritos, tostadas, quesadillas, and eggs to name a few. You just can’t go wrong. The flavors just explode when it hits your mouth. Take my word for it that this salsa is hot. If you’re not a huge fan of hot foods then cut the amount of Chipotle in half when you make this recipe. Making this salsa recipe is quick and easy as you just cut everything coarsely and throw it all in a blender. Whiz ingredients in blender until smooth and place in refrigerator to chill for 1 hour before serving. Perfect anytime including snack time, lunch time and dinner time.
Spicy Chipotle Tomato Salsa
The first time I made this salsa I served it with Pork Belly Street Tacos; a recipe I will share with you soon. Spicy and sweet pair well together. We all crave comfort food and I truly love cooking it as well as eating it. So this was a no-brainer pairing this hot and spicy salsa with pork belly coated in a sweet glaze. The sweet acts as a cooling agent is how I describe the effects of sweet heat. The combinations balance each other and is what I call addicting. They say sweet-heat does cause you to crave more and more. See, even science knows best.
Spicy Chipotle Tomato Salsa is great mixed with honey or maple syrup as a basting glaze for pork tenderloin or chicken on the grill. Place meat in flour tortillas topped with pico de gallo, cojito cheese and chopped cilantro. You will then know what addicted to this salsa means. This salsa is perfect for taco night with the family and friends, however, it will probably be too hot for them so choose something else for them unless your kids love hot and spicy. Get the blender out this weekend and share your uses for this recipe.

[…] First of all, Chipotle peppers are smoked dried jalapeno peppers which can be soaked in water to soften and then chopped before adding to a recipe. Considered to have a fruity aroma Chipotle’s lend a medium level of heat to any dish like salsas and sauces. Most often the dried peppers are red or almost black in color. But I have found them lighter in color as pictured below. Canned Chipotle peppers in Adobo sauce were used in my Spicy Chipotle Tomato Salsa. […]
