I made these for Easter and brought them to work. These delectable truffles were an instant hit. The perfect kid project and not to mention fun to eat by all. Addicting doesn’t even cover it.

Why were Sprinkle Cake Batter Truffles such a hit you ask? Starting with cake mix mixed with flour, sugar and the addition of colored sprinkles, how can you go wrong? Kids love sprinkles and for all you Mom’s how can you resist their effort. The creamy texture is irresistible which is sweet but not too sweet. I consider these truffles the best pop of dessert or sugar craving fix known at the moment. Furthermore, how much fun can be had by choosing your own colored sprinkles and coloring for the almond bark. Make a theme out of your truffles like using Mom’s favorite color.

Use chocolate cake mix and chocolate almond bark instead of yellow cake mix and white almond bark. Chocolate truffles are really pretty with gold sprinkles. Let the kids use their imagination and create from the heart. A fun time will definitely be had by all in addition to Happy Mothers Day wishes to Mom.

Sprinkle Cake Batter Truffles
Sprinkle Cake Batter Truffles
1 ½ cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup boxed yellow cake mix
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 t. pure vanilla extract
1/8 t. fine sea salt
3 to 4 T. milk
2 T. colored sprinkles (your choice)
8 squares (16 oz.) almond bark
4 T. boxed yellow cake mix
Wilton food coloring
Colored sprinkles (your choice)
Mix butter and sugar until well combined with electric mixer. Add in cake mix, flour, salt, vanilla and mix thoroughly.
Add in 3 T. milk, adding in more if needed to make a firm pliable dough. Mix in sprinkles by hand.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on parchment-lined jelly roll or baking sheet pans.
Place pan in refrigerator for 15 minutes until firm.
While dough balls are chilling, melt almond bark in microwave and add drops of food coloring as desired. Quickly stir in cake mix until well combined.
Using a fork, dip dough balls in almond bark and shake off excess. Place balls back on parchment and shake on sprinkles. Continue to dip remaining balls and sprinkle.
Place truffles back in refrigerator to chill and serve. Store in airtight container.
Note: Chocolate boxed cake mix and chocolate almond bark can be used for a different flavor variety.
