Cookbook of the Month – July 2020

More grilling is about to be put upon you I’m excited to say with my Cookbook of the Month – July 2020 recommendation, Gastro Grilling. You ask what is gastro grilling? Ted Reader, the author says gastronomy is the art and science of good eating and not a chore but a hobby. I wholeheartedly agree. You take pride in your ingredients and mixing in grocery store convenience. Sounds like a plan, right? I love the ability to bring pleasure and a bit of seduction to every bite. Cooking is my happy place anytime I get the chance to cook which is pretty darn often.

Exciting Grilling For Everyday Meals

Food is fun besides besides being nourishment. How you cook should be fun as well. The recipes in this cookbook will make you salivate, lick sticky fingers, and think you died and went to heaven. I love Ted’s saying, “What’s old is new again and what’s new is to be messed with. I agree creating a meal is easy by picking a starter, pick a side, a sauce, a main dish and dessert and a meal is born. It’s all about simple to prepare and absolutely delicious that light your fire.

Tastes Good, Smells Good, It Is Good!

If you happen to be able to use charcoal for grilling, nothing beats the flavor. However, for those of us who live without yards, it’s a bummer. These recipes can be done on a gas grill but charcoal is best. So, hold on to your hat because here are a few of my favorite recipes from this cookbook. First is, Cheesy Goodness (page 32) which consists of cheese, peppers, tequila, onions, and anything else you’d like to through in. My next favorite is Brown Sugar Butter-Crusted Shrimp (page 36), as well as grilled Chicken Sticks (page 51), Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms (page 69), Grilled Bread Salad (page 81), Planked Meatloaf (page 208), and Bourbon Street Pork Tenderloin (page 234).
